- The following is an extract from the
Carlow People Thursday March 22 2007:
- "Myles Kavanagh,
Royal Oak Road, Bagenalstown, recently returned to
Tanzania after a visit home. Myles who is a retired
Principal of Ballinabranna N.S. is a native of
Enniscorthy. Following his retirement he went as a
volunteer to Tanzania in 1977 with the Volunteer
Missionary Movement, which has its headquarters in All
Hallowes College, Dublin. He worked there as an
education adviser with Kilosa District Council in
Morogora, central Tanzania where he was involved with
the upgrading of primary school teachers in teacher
resource centres for three years."
