- 19 Dublin Street. A front view of B. Coleman's at the turn
of the century. Note the motorized Quadro Cycle. This cycle is still in
use today and is a major attraction at motor vintage shows throughout
the country. Coleman's continue to trade at 19 and 20 Dublin Street. The
business, remaining in the same family for over two hundred years, is
one of the oldest established family concerns in Ireland.

Leverett & Frye, 56 Dublin Street, Carlow was an upmarket general
grocery shop and bar, which began trading in the 1900s and continued to
do so up to the early 1970s when it was converted into a bar. It later became known as
The Little Owl,
first being run by returned emigrant Bridget Griffin and then by
Bill
Rooney. It has since being bought by a Carlow Businessman and
opted to revert to the original title when renaming the premises.
