Pleas of the Crown at a General Assizes and General Gaol Delivery held at Carlow in and for the said County of Carlow on Monday the 26th Day of March 1798 and in the 38th year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God King that;

James McAnnally, (security - Pat McAnnally and Pat Mahony of Old Leighlin, Farmers),
Bernard Fitzpatrick, (security - William Delaney and Philip Neale of Old Leighlin)
Arthut Neal, (security -Pat. Neale and Phelem Neale, Old Leighlin)
Michael Maher, (security ? Roche of Leighlinbridge, Blacksmith and George Younger of Carlow, Shoemaker.)
John Connor, (security - John Murphy of Slyguff, Farmer and Patric Ryan of Leighlinbridge, Farmer )
Miles Kinshelagh, (security - Denis Dogherty of Clowater and John Kelly of Balltloo, Farmers)
Luke Kinshelagh, (security - John Kelly and Patrick Beagham of Ballybannon, Farmers)
Denis Murphy, (security - Thomas Murphy of Ballyellen and Andrew Hennessy of Leighlinbridge ).
John Kilshelagh (security - Owen Kelly, Pat Kelly both of Kellystown),
Edward Hickey, ( security - John Murphy of ? and Pat Ryan of Leighlinbridge, Farmers)
Pat Cahill,  (security - James Neale, Thomas Hayden both of Old Leighlin, Farmers),

for that they Same day Year and place with many other evil disposed persons and disturbers of the peace being Armed with Fire Arms and fare, Locks Pistols and other offensive weapons Wickedly ? and Unlawfully did here Assemble And Appear Armed as aforesaid To the Terror of his Majesties Subjects to the Evil Example and against peace and that they on same day year and place Comtempliously ? and Unlawfully did answer the particular name and Denomination of United Irishmen the same not being Usually Assumed by his Majesties Subjects on their Lawful Occasions and under that Name did here Assemble and appear armed as aforesaid.

Assault Charge 1798

Pleas of the Crown at a General Assizes and General Gaol Delivery held at Carlow on Monday 26th Day of March 1798 in the 38th year of the Reign etc. etc. etc. Dudley Kavenagh, Edward Kavenagh, James Kavenagh, Edmond Kavenagh, William Culliton that they with many others Unknown on 7th May in the 37th year of the Reign etc. (1797) at __ ??__   Bridge of St. Mollins did Riotously and Unlawfully assemble and Associate themselves together and Commit a great  _?_ against peace.
