TULLOWMAGIMMA, a
parish in co. Carlow, baronies of Carlow and Forth, union of Carlow,
Protestant diocese of Leighlin, Catholic diocese of Kildare and
Leighlin, 3 miles south-east from Carlow station on the Great Southern
and Western railway; it contains 11 Townlands. For Protestant purposes
this parish is united with that of Staplestown. There is a Catholic
church and a National school. The area comprises 4,069 acres ; the
population in 1891 was 539.

URGIAN or RUTLAND,
a parish in the county and barony of Carlow, union of Carlow, Protestant
diocese of Leighlin, Catholic diocese of Kildare and Leighlin, 3 miles
north-east from Carlow station on the Great Southern and Western
railway, containing IT Townlands and the village of PALATINE. For
Protestant purposes the parish forms an union with Killerrig and part of
Grangeforth. There is a constabulary police station. The area comprises
3,140 acres; the population in 1891 was 518.

Carlow, barony of Idrone West, and partly in co. Kilkenny, barony of
Gowran, unions of Carlow and Kilkenny, Protestant diocese of Leighlin,
situated on the river Barrow, 3 miles south-west from Bagenalstown
station on the Great Southern and Western and terminal station on the
Dublin, Wicklow and Wexford railways, containing 10 Townlands and the
market town of Leighlin Bridge, which see. For Protestant purposes this
parish is united with that of Leighlin. There is a Catholic church and a
National school. The area comprises 2,730 acres ; the population in 1891
was 749.

TINNAHINCH, a village in Co
Carlow, in parish of St. Mullins, barony of St. Mullins Lower, union of
New Ross, Protestant diocese of Leighlin, 5. miles south-south-west from
Borris station on the Great Southern and Western and the Dublin, Wicklow
and Wexford railways, on the river Barrow,, here crossed by a bridge to
Graiguenamanagh, co. Kilkenny, of which it is a suburb. The area
comprises 20 acres ; the population in 1891 was 284.
