FENNAGH,
a parish
in co. Carlow, Baronies of Forth, Idrone East and Rathvilly, head (with
Myshall) of dispensary district in union of Carlow, Protestant diocese
of Leighlin, 5 miles south-east from Leighlinbridge, containing 36
Townlands, the villages of Ballybrommell and Ballyknockan and part of
the market town of Tullow, with a terminal station on a branch line of
the Great Southern and Western railway, which see. For Protestant
purposes the parish is in union with Myshall. The area comprises 10,516
acres; the population in 1891 was 2,019.
