Elms House was originally called Ellen Ville is also located on the Athy Road in Carlow.
William Desmond Taylor (born William Cunningham
Deane-Tanner April 26, 1872 in The Elms Carlow, Co. Carlow.
Ireland. He was a successful US film director and a
popular figure in the growing Hollywood film colony of the
1910's and early 1920s. He was the victim of a murder that
remains officially unsolved. Died on 1st February 1922 in Los Angeles, CA. USA

Elms House was once used as a nursing home but was
demolished in the 1970's to make way for a new housing
estate.
