This list of baptism locations for the Roman Catholic Parish of Castleisland, is taken from the Casey Collection Transcript, vol. VI, pp. 931-1034, 1823-1840. The parish lies with the Civil Parishes of Castleisland and Ballincuslane. Note that some are listed as being in Brosna Parish, which was the northern third of Castleisland Civil Parish (and later become Knocknagoshel RC Parish when it split off from Brosna in 1916). Unless so noted, the parish is Castleisland.

Note that the Catholic Parish Priests were not obliged to enter the "official" governmental name of the home town of the parents. They often used the "neighborhood" name used by the locals, and won't be found on any official list.

There were spelling problems in this transcription. Many of the spelling variations are due to poor copies and the "ignorance of the transcriber." Others would be due to the vagaries of translating Gaelic into English. It's always advisable to check the records yourself, as errors are possible.
