Knocknagoshel Obituary

Mangan/Shanahan

This obituary was sent to me, 30 May 2000, by Father Kieran O'Shea of the Presbytery of Knocknagoshel, County Kerry, Ireland, in regards to queries of the Mangan family, especially Bishop John Mangan. Unfortunately, this obituary was undated, but in a hand written note from Father O'Shea he writes that Rev. John Mangan died ca 1917. Since Rev. John Mangan presided over his sister's funeral, she had to have died prior to 1917. Also, via a phone conversation with Father O'Shea, he said Mrs. Shanahan and Bishop Mangan's father (Daniel) died ca 1910. Since he is not listed in the obituary, it is possible that Mrs. Shanahan died between 1910-1917.
