Lord Oranmore and Browne daughter of Henry and Lady Elizabeth Monck born 1788 died 1865 and lies buried in this churchyard erected by her son Geoffrey 2nd. Lord Oranmore and Browne She was charitable in heart as in deed. "Blessed are the pure in spirit" To the memory of Miss Mary Anne Browne 3rd. daughter of Dominick Geoffrey Browne, Esq. of Castle Macgarrett She, The Dowager Viscountess Dillon and Miss Georgiana Browne all sisters of Dominick 1st. Lord Oranmore and Browne Died in the year 1862. This memorial is erected by her affectionate nephew Geoffrey Guthrie 2nd. Baron Oranmore & Browne of Carrowbrowne Castle in the county of the town of Galway and of Castle Macgarrett Co. Mayo, in the Peerage of Ireland born 28th. May 1787, married in 1811 Catherine Anne Isabella eldest and co-heir of the late Henry Monck Esqr., and had issue 1 Geoffrey Dominick Augustus Frederick born in 1819, married Dec. 31st. 1859 Christina only surviving child of Alexander Guthrie of Mount, Ayrshire, whose name and arms he assumed in lieu of those of his family and had issue a son Geoffrey Henry Browne born Jan. 6th. 1861. 2 Henry George Monck born 1824, died 21st. Nov. 1843. 1 Henrietta Asaminta Monck married 17th. April 1845 to Charles William Ridley Lieut. Colonel Grenadier Guards 2nd. son of the late Sir Matthew White Ridley Bart. and had issue 2 Margaret Elizabeth Catherine Augusta died 29th. July 1842. This nobleman represented the Co. of Mayo in seven Parliaments, was made a Privy Councillor in 1834. and created a Peer of Ireland in 1836. and was sometime Vice Lieutenant of the Co. Mayo He died 30th. January 1860. In a vault underneath lie the remains of Dominick Geoffrey Browne, Esqr. of Castle Macgarrett who departed this life the 8th. of May 1826. in his 71st year The uniform integrity and benevolence of his character affords consolation to three sons and five daughters who survived him as well as to his afflicted widow by whom this small tribute of affection and gratitude is erected. MAYO 138 A very handsome monument, by Westmacott. A sculptured representation of Henry Browne, lying on the ground with his gun beside him. A tree beside him, with a broken bough, and his sister Margaret as an angel bending over him: — To the beloved memory of The Honble. Henry George Monck Browne cut off in the bloom of youth and the promise of every endearing and manly virtue He was born January 10th. 1824 and was killed by the accidental and at once fatal discharge of his gun November 21st. 1843. His mourning Father and Mother, only surviving sister, his only brother, and his dear friend and cousin Gerald Dillon have placed this memorial of their sad loss added that of his loving and beloved sister Margaret within 16 months. Look on this ye that are confident in your strength and forget not that in the midst of life ye are in death. In the churchyard :— Erected to the memory of | Mary J.
