1928 Vegetable Market.
Nationalist and Leinster Times.
May 1928. (Carlow notes.)
A number of pupils of Mr MacKenzie, who
for twenty years has been Horticulture Instructor for the County, will
supply the Vegetable Market to be opened on Saturday next.
This speaks sufficiently for the
excellence of the products.
The hours are to be from 9am to 12noon.
The want of this market has been felt in
Carlow for very many years, and now that one is established - thanks to
the efforts of the Carlow Urban District Council, I hope that people
will not be slow to avail of this splendid opportunity of purchasing
fresh and varied vegetables at the minimum price.
This is Carlow's chance, and I hope it
will be largely availed of.
