This
yearof 1961 our cover picture (seen here on the left) is a study
by out faithful photographer, Mr Donald Godfrey, taken from the
top of the Barrow Mills, looking towards the North East. This
gives a lovely view of the River Barrow just above the weir.
Graigue Bridge, (referred to in the 1961 issue of the Carloviana
magazine) can be seen clearly and in the distance, the familiar
sight of the Carlow Sugar Factory. Here we have a very familiar
scene for all who know Carlow, and one which, like the Old
Carlow Society itself, blends the old with the new.
