CHAPTER XV
Reign of Edward V & Richard III A.D. 1483 to A.D.
1485.
Edward V. succeeded his father, the late king, but being' of tender
years, he was conveyed to prison, and there, it is stated, murdered: by
the orders of his uncle, Richard III., who seized upon the crown.
Richard was killed at the great battle of Bosworth on the 22nd of
August, 1485. During the three last reigns the portion of interest
attached to the general history of Ireland is but small. It will not,
therefore, be surprising, that as regards our county, we should be
deficient in memorials of any particular value.
