November 8th 1937. Obtainer form Mr. Patrick Farrell of Bilboa. Co. Carlow. Aged 60 years., and transcribed by by a member of our volunteer transcription project. The name of my home district is Bilboa. It is situated in the parish of Leighlin and in the Barony of Idrone. There are about seventy families in the townland no name being predominant. Most of the houses are slated and very little of them are thatched. There are several people over seventy living in the townland. They do not know any Irish. They can tell stories in English but they can not tell them in Irish. People emigrated to America and to Scotland during the famine days. There are several houses now in ruins. Houses are more numerous at the present day than in former time. The townland is not mentioned in any song or saying. Most of the land is hilly and boggy.
