Arles Gaelic Junior Football Team
c.1950's
In the
1950's Jack McCaffrey formed a Gaelic Junior Football
team in Arles and won 3 games against Killabban, Killeen
and Ballylynan. Unfortunately the team folded shortly
afterwards because there was little interest and junior
players were not interested at the time so he was unable
to provide a full team of players to continue playing.
In
1955/6 a little girl went missing in the area. People
from Arles and Ballickmoyler searched for her all night.
The next morning she was found safe and well and in good
health. Her fathers name was Henry Ovington.
