Carlow
Sentinel, June 1920.
Despatch by Aeroplane.
On
Monday morning at 10.30 o' clock an aeroplane hovered over the town of
Carlow and after a short time was seen to descend near the military
barracks; it did not land , however, but dropped something in the shape
of a small bag in the vicinity of the barracks and then went away.
It is
believed that it contained dispatches to the British military stationed
in the town
The plane used was probably a De
Haviland DH9A.
