County Scheme Order, Carlow No. 3, 1925. DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH. 15/01/1925: COUNTY SCHEME ORDER, CARLOW NO. 3,
1925. THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT (TEMPORARY PROVISIONS) ACT, 1923 . CARLOW COUNTY SCHEME. To the Council of the Administrative County of Carlow; to the Carlow County Board of Health; and to all whom it may concern:
WHEREAS by an Order under my Seal of Office bearing date the tenth day of July, 1923 called the Carlow County Scheme Order, 1923, I, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health, in pursuance of Section 4 of the Local Government (Temporary Provisions) Act, 1923 (hereinafter referred to as "the Act"), did confirm the Scheme prepared by the Council of the Administrative County of Carlow in accordance with the provisions of the Act for the relief of the poor in their county, and submitted to me, with such modifications, omissions and additions as should bring it into conformity with the provisions of the Scheme set out in the Schedule to the said Order (which said provisions are in the said Order, and this Order referred to as the Carlow County Scheme) : AND WHEREAS the Carlow County Scheme has come into operation, and I, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health, did in pursuance of Section 5 of the Act, by the Carlow County Scheme (No. 2) Order, 1924, amend the Carlow County Scheme, and I deem it necessary further to amend the Carlow County Scheme by the substitution of a new sub-article for sub-article (i) of Article 15 thereof, and did on the 13th day of November, 1924, give to the Council of the Administrative County of Carlow one month's notice of my intention to make the said amendment, and have taken into consideration any representation which has been made to me by the said Council within such month in respect of the said amendment: NOW, THEREFORE, I, the Minister for Local Government and Public Health, in exercise of the powers given to me by Section 5 of the Act, and of all other powers in this behalf enabling me, the said month having expired, do, by this my Order, order and direct as follows, that is to say:— 1. From and after the date hereof the Carlow County Scheme shall be amended by the substitution therein for sub-article (i) of Article 15 thereof of the following sub-article:— 15 (i) Subject to the provisions of this Scheme, and to any directions of the Minister in that behalf, the Board of Health shall provide and maintain for the reception and maintenance of persons in the County eligible for relief:— (a) A County Home at Carlow for aged and infirm persons, harmless lunatics, epileptics, children, unmarried mothers and maternity cases. (b) A District Hospital at Carlow for the treatment of medical and surgical cases. (c) A Fever Hospital at Carlow for the treatment of cases of infectious and contagious diseases. (d) A District Hospital at Muinebeag for the treatment of medical and surgical cases and cases of infectious and contagious diseases. (e) A District Hospital at Tullow for the treatment of medical and surgical cases and cases of infectious and contagious diseases. With the approval of the Minister, such other institutions as they may deem desirable for the relief of the poor in their county. 2. This Order may be cited as the Carlow County Scheme (No. 3) Order, 1925. Given under My Seal of Office, this Fifteenth day of January, in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand Nine Hundred and Twenty-five.
