Edward Kirk England / Carlow
Edward Kirk who came to England with his wife Ellen from
Carlow in the middle of the 1800's. The 1871 Census states that
he and Ellen were born in Carlow, he was born in 1835 and Ellen
was born in 1837. They had three children; Thomas, Elizabeth and
Martha all born in England. I believe he is my GGGrandfather.
I would like to know anything about the Kirk family from
Carlow. I think they must have come over to survive the famine.
I have only just recently found out about my Irish link and I
must admit I am so shocked to read about the history of this
time for these poor people!
