On June 6th 1966, the Jimmy Magee All Stars played
their very first game. The idea was to play a fun match between the
country's best known Showband stars at the time (Jimmy Magee All Stars)
and a local team. After the huge success of that first match which
raised £800 for charity, the All Stars continued to play celebrity fun
matches for charities in every county in Ireland over the following
thirty one years.
