Knockclonagad Hous

The following information on Knocklonagad House, was supplied by Belinda Vigors c.Nov 2024.  

 

This is a photo of my grandfather with his mother and siblings outside Knocklonagad in probably in poss 1930s, back then the whole front was covered in ivy -- very different to how it looks now.

The name Knocklonagad (or Knocklonegad as my grandmother spelt it) is enshrined in my mind for the hours I spent listening to my grandmother, Mabel Vigors (nee Cantlon) who passed away on 12th April  2011, speak of the house! My grandparents, (John William Stafford Vigors and Mabel Vigors) sold Knoclonagad in 1952 and moved to Rockview, Arklow, Co. Wicklow. Prior to their ownership it was in the hands of my great-grandfather Bartholomew Vigors and great-grandmother Jane Goodbody Eustace, (d. 29 January 1946), before them, I'm not sure how much further back the Vigors connection to this property goes.
