Milford Railway Station c.1900

The station is situated on the main Dublin to Waterford line between Carlow and Bagenalstown. The station is 3½ miles from Carlow station which is about 5-10 minute journey time depending on the type of train being used.

The train company was Great Southern and Western Railway and trains ran from Dublin to Waterford.

Milford was a very important station for the transport of lime from the nearby Clogrennane lime works. Milford was also famous for its mills, owned by the Alexander family.
