The following details have been transcribed from miscellaneous
newspapers on microfilm, books and journals which can be found at County
Carlow Library, Tullow Street, Carlow, Co Carlow IRELAND.
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 31, 1774, to WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 4, 1775.
TO BE SET from the 25th of March next, for 31 Years, or a longer Term
if agreed upon, either in the Whole or in Parcels, the House and Demesne
of KILL, in the County of Carlow, lately held by THOMAS BUNBURY, Efq.;
containing 218A. 10P mostly Meadowing. Proposals to be received (in
Writing) by LORENZO NICKSON, Efq; Manny, near Carlow; ABRAHAM STEWARD,
Efq; Kilkenny; JOHN WHELAN, Efq; Ballyconnel, near Carlow, and MR.
Richard Waller, Custom-House, Dublin. Said Lands are situate within 2
Miles of Tullow, 6 of Carlow, and 30 of Dublin. Proposals kept secret if

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 15, to SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 18, 1775
QUEENS COUNTY
TO BE SET from 25th March next, for Lives or Years, part of the Lands
of IRON MILLS, within one Mile of Ballinakill, in faid County,
containing about 50A. mostly all meadowing, on which there is a most
excellent Farm House, two remarkable good Malt Houses, and all manner of
useful and necessary Offices, in right good Repair. The Tenant may have
more Land if required. Apply to JOHN WARREN, Esq; Lowhill, near said

- From Pat Purcell Papers:
A 1780 Election Notice. Lady Butler of Ballintemple in the
County of Carlow, being informed that several of the friends of her
family have lately been solicited for their Votes and Interests, as if a
General Election was shortly expected, humbly takes the liberty of
requesting all those who have formerly honoured the BUTLER FAMILY with
their protection and support, to hold themselves disengaged until they
can be properly consulted with respect to such an event.

The Dublin Penny Journal 1832
The Dublin Penny Journal in its first issue of
June 30th 1832 which was printed by John S. Folds, 56, Great Strand
