Landlord and Plaintiff, John Archibold Leonard, Esquire. ~~~~~~~
Tenent
and Defendant
James
Nowlan, Margaret Nowlan, Ellen Nowlan (widow), Stephen Nowlan, Michael
Nowlan, Patrick Nowlan and Peter Nowlan, a minor by Ellen Nowlan his
mother and Guardian and next friend.
Ejectment by Civil Bill for the Recovery of the Possession of that part
of the lands of Ratmore containing one acre, three roods and thirty
seven perches measure by the same more or less together with the
dwelling house and out-offices.
All
which Tenements and Premises are situate in the Parish of Rathmore,
Barony of Rathvilly in the Division of Tullow in the County of Carlow,
Yearly Rent 6 pounds and 13 shillings.
A
notice to quit dated 22nd day of July 1847 having been directed to
Michael Nowlan, deceased, the father of the defendants and Husband of
the said Ellen Nowlan, widow and that the Possession of said Premises
had been demanded from the Defendants by John Kelly of Rathmore agent
for John Archiblod Leonard.

Nowlan & Murphy 1848.
[James and Denis Nowlan "answering recognizance" (posting a Bond) for
Thomas Murphy to appear at the next Sessions in Tullow charged with
assault on William Lahy].

I Thomas Murphy, Farmer, do swear that I usually reside at Connbery,
Townland of Connbery, County of Carlow.
- So help me God.

I James Nowlan, Farmer, do swear that I am a Householder and have a
House, wherein I usuall reside at Connbery in the Parish of Ballon
Barony of Forth, Carlow and that I am worth the sum of five Pounds
sterling, over and above all my just debts.
- So help my (sic) God.
