Patrick Snoddy

Mr. Patrick Snoddy.
It is with deep regret we announce the death
of Mr Patrick Snoddy which occurred after a brief illness at his
residence at Quinagh, Carlow. Deceased had been in good health up to a
few days before his death and his rather sudden demise cast a gloom
over the district where he was extremely popular.
He had been in the employment of the Great
Southern Railways for almost half a century, and retired on pension
some years ago.
He farmed for a number of years at Quinagh.
During the Black and Tan and Civil wars his
home was always open to the volunteers on the run and the help and
kindness they received will ever be remembered.
The funeral which took place to Ballincarrig,
was of very large dimensions and was a striking testimony to the
memory of the deceased.
Rev. Tom Fennell officiated at the graveside.

Slater, Kilkenny (brother-in-law); John Slater, Junior, Edward Slater,
Paddy Slater, Edward, John and Joe Walsh, James McCartney, Donal
McCartney, Liam McCartney, Joe Doyle, (nephews); Joe Leonard, Charlie
Goebbles, Paddy Jones, Joe Phelan, Pat Purcell, Michael Purcell,
(relatives).
A large number of Mass Cards were received.
