Rathwade House
A George IV house built in the fashionable
Tudor-gothic revival 'cottage' style and set in the most
delightful mature grounds.
Rathwade is an extremely
attractive and beautifully proportioned house in the
Tudor style. The design is attributed to the
renowned nineteenth century architect Daniel
Robertson, although the style is similar in design
and possibly influenced by examples designed by the
revered architect R.V. Morrison. Constructed between
1820 and 1840 for a member of the Bagneal family, of
nearby Dunleckney Manor, the pleasing
characteristics of the exterior continue inside with
gracious reception rooms and nicely proportioned
bedrooms |
