Rebellion of 1798 Broadsides

(above) Extract from Letter from Colonel Campbell to General Dundas Dublin, 1798
Printed at the height of the 1798 Rebellion, this broadside was aimed at reassuring to those citizens of Dublin who were fearful that the United Irishmen would succeed in their aim of making Ireland an independent Republic. It tells of the success of the yeomanry forces at Carlow and Monasterevan and the resultant high spirits of the soldiers.
