He was the son of Colonel John Staunton Rochfort and
Harriette Mann. He married, firstly, Frances Elizabeth Cosby,
daughter of Thomas Cosby and Charlotte Elizabeth Kelly, on 6
August 1837. He married, secondly, Hon. Charlotte Hood, daughter
of Samuel Hood, 2nd Baron Bridport and Charlotte Mary Nelson,
Duchesa di Bronté, on 4 September 1845.

Sheriff of County Carlow in 1840.

Sheriff of Queen's County in 1845.
- He held the office of Deputy
Lieutenant (D.L.).
- He held the office of Justice of
the Peace (J.P.).
- He lived at Clogrenane
Castle, County Carlow, Ireland.
Colonel Horace Rochfort of Clogrennan, Co. Carlow, founded the
Co. Carlow Football Club and was elected the first president in
1873. He was also the founder of the County Carlow Cricket Club
in 1831, and the founder and first secretary of the All Ireland
Polo Club in the Phoenix Park, Dublin, in 1873, having founded
the County Carlow Polo Club in 1872.
Captain Horace William Rochfort was born on 20 August 1839. He
was the son of Horace William Noel Rochfort and Frances
Elizabeth Cosby.
He married Elizabeth Dawlay, daughter of Marriott E. Dawlay, in
1882. He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal
Navy
