This is what was found on a Francis Salter.

Salter Francis, Reg no. 11676, Rank, Corp, Royal Irish Regt 2nd Batt Died of wounds France Nov 10th 1916, Born Carlow.

Another Salter name Salter Peter, Reg No 3882, Rank; Private, Irish Guards 1st Batt. Killed in Action in France Nov 1st 1914. Born Kildrenagh Co Carlow.

In ref to Peter Salter, found this on another site

Pte Peter Salter 3882 1st Bat. Irish Guards Died 1st Nov 1914 Age 23, he was the son of the Late Thomas and Maria Salter of Kildrenagh, Bagenalstown, they lived in a house which was on Hughes Farm, there is a milking parlour there now. He enlisted in Dublin and was killed in action in France more likely Belgium, he is commemorated on The Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial in Belgium, and on the Great War Memorial in Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow. There may not be any relatives remaining in Bagenalstown.
