The factory was first built around 1926.

Erin Foods opened their factory on the Cannery Road in 1962.

An enormous fire at the site in December 2014 gutted the former factory, with some 900 bales of straw which were stored on the site intensifyed the blaze and leading to concerns about the asbestos within the building. Ther wer
