1642 Deposition in Trinity College.

1642 Deposition of ffrancis Waringe of
the town and parish of Hacketstown in the
Countie of Catherlagh. Blacksmith, being
duly sworn and examined sayth upon his
corporal oath that since the beginning of
the present Rebellion in this Kingdome to
wit about the 16th of November last past he
was deprived robbed or otherwise despoiled
of the goods and Chattels of the values
following vizt “of a least of a house and
of” certain goods and household stuff worth
23 pounds or thereabouts: And that “it was
done” by the Birnes (Byrnes) near Wicklow
and their adherents and also by one Morris
Bawnes of Kilclownagh in the parish of
Kiltagon in the Countie of Wicklow and many
more “whom” he knoweth not.
