Yeomanry Corps, (Ireland,) Petition from Carlow for disbanding.

Upon reading the Petition of the Landed Proprietors, Freeholders, Householders and Inhabitants of the Parish of Carlow, of all Denominations, whose Names are thereunto subscribed; praying their Lordships "to adopt such Measures as they may deem advisable for disbanding the Yeomanry Corps of Ireland, from whom, should they be called out in aid of the Civil Power, the Petitioners have nothing to expect but the most wanton Exercise of lawless Violence, as in the Case of the late unfortunate Circumstances at Newtownbarry:"

It is Ordered, That the said Petition do lie on the Table.

Leighlin Bridge:

Upon reading the Petition of the Inhabitants of Leighlin Bridge, County of Carlow, Ireland, whose Names are thereunto subscribed; praying "That their Lordships will be pleased to adopt immediate Measures for disarming the present Yeomanry of Ireland, as the Petitioners are seriously of Opinion that it will otherwise no longer be in the Power of the Friends of Peace to maintain that Influence which has hitherto been exerted with Effect to control the Feelings of the People, and preserve the Country from a dreadful Convulsion:"

It is Ordered, That the said Petition do lie on the Table.
