- Voice of Rebellion - Carlow in 1798
-
|
Written by William Farrell and was first published in
1949 in Ireland by Browne and Nolan Limited, The Richview Press, Dublin.
This book is an autobiography of William Farrell and edited by Roger
J. McHugh. William Farrell wrote his account between 1832 and 1845, when
he was an old man. His manuscript consists of 187 parchment pages bound
roughly between tattered leather covers. Farrell's express wish was that
it should not be published until after his death.
"This account of the rising in 1798 in Carlow was written by William
Farrell, and is an eyewitness account of its bloody events."
A copy of this book can be found in the Local History Research
section of the Carlow Library, Tullow Street, Carlow, County Carlow,
Ireland. It is also available under the title of "Voice of Rebellion",
