The Bagenalstown community was deeply saddened by the passing of Mr Jack Barrett, Oak Grove, Bagenalstown, who died peacefully at his home on December 22 after a short illness. He was 72 years of age.

The death took place at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, of Mr Thomas J. Blanche, Connaberry, Ballon. Aged 90, the late Mr. Blanche was an active man and had enjoyed good health until very recently. He had worked for Carlow County Council as a carpenter for many years.
