PARISH OF RASHARKIN 'On an oval tablet fixed in the wall of the old church of Rasharkin,on the south side of the Chancel':- HIC JACET. I OHAN. DV | NBAR. CLER | QVI. BERRIS [sic]. IN CELVM. MIGRAVIT. 28 | DIE 7 BRIS | ANNO DINI | 1696. [Copied by Canon Grainger, 1872.] 'On a table on the north wall of the old church':-Here lieth ye body of MARGARET McNEILE who departed this lifeMarch the 17th 1723. as also Rose, Mary, Archd, and Margaret McNeilhis children.[Copied by Canon Grainger, 1872.] To the Memory of the Revd. WM. RAVERSCROFT, Prebendaryof Rasharkin who died May the 5th 1804 aged 38 years.[J.G. 1872.] Erected to the Memory of the REVD. WM. DICKSON for 46 [? 50] years Prebendary of Rasharkin. He departd this life on the 24th Sept 1850 in his 74 year.[Copied by Dr. Grainger, 1872.] Here lieth the body of the REVd. SKEFFINGTON [BRISTOW] Prebendary of Rasharkin for 60 years, who d[eparted] thislife in the Ninety Sixth [year] of his age on [the] 7th day of May 1797.And also of his wife ELIZABETH who depar[ted] this life onthe 21st day of March 1792, aged seventy [ ?].and also of their daughter, SOPHIA WILLSON wh[o] departedthis life on the 14th of December 1791. aged forty five years.And also of their granddaughter, MARGARET TORRENS, andof their great grand-daughter SOPHIA BRISTOW aged 5 months. and theirgreat grand-daughter SOPHIA MARSHALL, aged 6 months.Also of SKEFFINGTON GORE BRISTOW son of the above, who died in the monthof February 1798.
