In 2006 the Cushendun Building Preservation Trust was established to try and save the building. The project got off to a flying start when the Church was selected to take part in BBC2's "Restoration Village". Thanks to a terrific effort on the part of the local community, the church was regional winner for Northern Ireland. Their 1st Cushendun Arts Festival was held May 3-7 2013.
