Antrim Wills: Linn, David December 21, 1826 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Antrim Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Rosalind Dunning ros.dunning@outlook.com ANTRIM WILLS: LINN, DAVID DECEMBER 21, 1826 Source: National Archives London Written: December 21,1826 Recorded: 26 October 1827 Copy from the Registry of Down and Connor In the Name of God Amen I David Linn of Larne in the County of Antrim Surgeon of late of His Majestys 62nd regiment of foot but now on half pay being weak of body but of sound mind memory and understanding do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following whereas my dear wife on my decease will be entitled to a considerable annuity as my widow which I consider will be amply sufficient for her support without leaving her any portion of my property and our family being numerous she has concurred with me in this view of the matter I therefore give devise and bequeath all the property of which I may die possessed of what nature or kind so ver the same may as follows that is to say first one third thereof to be equally divided amongst my Sons William and David and the remaining two thirds to be equally divided among my daughters Elizabeth Margaret and Jane and I hereby order that as soon as the respective shares of my said Children can be ascertained that the same be put to interest during their respective minorities and that the interest thereof be used by my said wife towards their maintenance and education and the principal sum or share of each of my said Children be paid to them on their coming of age respectively and lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my said dear wife sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifteenth day of December one thousand eight hundred and twenty six David Linn (Attestation Clause) Saml Ferres _ John McCulloch This is a Codicil to the last Will and Testament of me David Linn of Larne Surgeon which I order to be annexed thereto and taken asa part thereof whereas on the death of my late brother William Linn I have become entitled to the farm called the Craigs as his heir at Law I now therefore give devise and bequeath the said farm of Craigs to my dear wife on the trusts following viz to have take and receive the rents issues and profits thereof during the minority of my eldest Son William Linn for the use and benefit of my Son David and my Daughters Elizabeth Margaret and Jane and my said Son William attaining his age of twenty one years I give devise and bequeath the said farm of Craigs to him and the heirs of his body for ever subject nevertheless to a legacy of one hundred pounds sterling apiece to my Son David and my daughter Jane to be paid to them on their attaining their age of twenty one years respectively In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty first day of December one thousand eight hundred andtwenty six David Linn (Attestation Clause) John Mc Culloch _ Jno Houston _ James Carley Proved at London with a Codicil 26 October 1827 by the Oath of Elizabeth Linn the Relict PCC Prob 11/1731
