ROSSCARBERY PARISH
[From Doctor Alexander Mann Alcock, Innishannon]

"Wm. Evens died April 20th 1839 aged 1 year, native of 
Belticua near Bangor N. Wales"

"Erected by Mary in memory of her beloved husband Thomas 
Deane of Barley Hill who departed this life March 23 1883 
aged 69 years. 'Those who sleep in Jesus will God bring with 
him' 1 Thes. iv. chap. 14v."

"Erected by Helena and Timothy in loving memory of their 
mother Mary Hill O'Donovan, of Keelskonona who died Dec 22 
1893 aged 80 years R.I.P."

"Obelisk headstone':-

"Sacred to the memory of Amelia Good the devotedly 
affectionate wife of Richard Good, Aherlow, who died Sept 
18th 1865 at the premature age of 21 years."

"Plain headstones"

"In loving memory of Lizzie Anne the beloved child of 
Richard and Amelia Good Born 14th Nov 1864. Died 21 Oct 
1871"

"here lies the remains of Barbara Legol who died April 18th 
1887 aged 68 years also her twin sister Eliza aged 75 years. 
Alicia Died September 1885 aged 61 years Henry died June 
1863 aged 35 years Patrick died 1844. aged 25 years. 
Children of Thomas and Mary Legol"

"In memory of Sarah Smith who died May 14 1822 aged 22 
years.

"My husband dear my life is past
My love for you so long did last"

"In memory of Eliza Anne West daughter to George and Nary 
West Coast Guard of Millcove died June 19th 1844 aged 6 
years  'She is not dead but sleepeth.' "

"This monument was erected in memory of Mrs. Elizabeth 
Somerville of Clogheen who departed this life on the sixth 
day of Nov 1787"

"Lizzie Mathews who fell asleep in Jesus 20th Nov 1888 'For 
me to live is Christ and to die again' " [sic] presumably 
"is gain"]

"Erected to the memory of David and Constantia Horan by 
their affectionate daughter Helena Sealey  Rev. 14. 3. v."

"Erected to the loving memory of Rose Ellen the Beloved wife 
of Christopher John Miller who died Oct 7 1899 aged 30 
years."

"Thy will be done."

"In memory of Michael C. Hayes of Renascreena Died December 
2nd 1897. R.I.P."

Coloured marble headstones and railings':-
"The last resting place of The Fitzpatrick Family. 'May They 
rest in Peace Amen.' Anno Domini 1896."

"Erected by a few friends in memory of James Douglas who 
died November 2nd 1883 Job 1. 21."

'Altar-tomb':-
"Sacred to the Beloved Memory of Roger Sweeny Summerhill Esq 
who departed this life February 12 1848. Also to that of his 
attached wife Jane Hungerford who died March 6th 1842. 
Erected by their only surviving child Mary Jane Hungerford 
wife of The Revd J.W. O'Callaghan as a small tribute of 
filial affection and fond remembrance   Colossians 3rd chap 
4th verse."

'Altar-tomb':-
"This Tomb was erected to the memory of Townsend Beamish who 
died June 20 1808 aged 28 years. John Sealy Beamish who died 
Febry. 15 1809."

'Altar-tomb':-
"The Burying place of Mr. John Moloney of Derryduff and 
family He died November 28 1813 aged 27 years."

'Altar-tomb':-
"Mrs. Maria Fitzgibbon Died September 19th 1842 aged 89 
years. 1 Thes. 13. 14. 18."

'Altar-tomb':-
Sacred to the memory of Thomas Hungerford of Cahirmore Esq 
Died June 21st 1861 aged 72 years. Beneath are also interred 
the remains of Alicia his wife Died May 8th 1851, Thomas 
their son Died June 5th 1847 Jane their daughter Died 
February 8th 1855 and other members of the Hungerford family 
removed from adjoining vault. August 1861."

'On the right side of tomb, as you approach it from the 
cathedral':-
"as in Adam all die even so in Christ shall all be made 
alive."

'On left side':-
"My Soul doth wait for him and in the Lord is my trust."

On the entrance end on marble shield - Hungerford crest and 
motto':-
"Et Dieu mon Appuy."

'On slabs round the bottom of the tomb on the ground :-

"Margaret Wolfe Hungerford wife of Thomas Henry Hungerford 
Died 24 January 1897 'Neither death or life shall be able to 
separate us from the love of God.' "
