statute miles west from town of Skibbereen and three miles east from Ballydehob. and about 10 miles S E
from Bantry. The surface is in parts rocky but the soil is generally fertile and has been fairly
cultivated and much improvement could be effected in parts by drainage. There is much facility for
sea manures from Roaring Water Bay, distant about one English mile from the south end of the lands.
There are about 73 acres of good turf bog on this denomination, the greater part of which could be
reclaimed. Poor rates have diminished considerably in the Skull Union in consequences of the great
employment now, and for some time, given therein by the working of several copper mines.

The townland of LISACLARIBEG lies immediately adjoining Lisaclarigmore and is in the same Poor Law
Union and the same observations as to that townland may be applied to it. The surface is, however,
more rocky. There are about 70 acres of turf bog comprised in it, nearly all of which could be
reclaimed. (See Conditions of Sale of Leasehold Lands and General Conditions of Sale.)

NOTED: East Skeams is an Island half-a-mile East of Hare Island [Lot No. 5] and not far from the

many improvements could be made on this denomination. There is a very nice Strand attached to this
Island which affords every facility for sea bathing; and if a pretty Cottage was built on this
Island, it would be a most desirable summer residence.
