This is the last Will and Testament of me Patrick Dowling 
late of the Coldstream Regiment of Guards but now Prisoner 
of War at the Depot of Briancon Department .... Alpes in 
France do make publish and declare this my last Will and 
Testament in manner following (that is to say) I give and 
bequeath unto my Brother John Dowling of Dunbar Street in 
the City of Cork all and every Sum and Sums of Money Debts 
dues and Effects Lands and other Property of what nature or 
kind soever the same may be of which I may be possessed at 
the time of my decease or which may be in any way due owing 
or belonging to me at the time of my decease to and for his 
own use and benefit And I do hereby Nominate and Appoint my 
said Brother John Dowling sole Executor of this my last Will 
and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand 
and seal this Seventh day of August one thousand Eight 
hundred and Eleven the mark of X Patrick Dowling Sealed 
Published and declared by the Testator Patrick Dowling in 
the presence of J Nesbitt Carpenter Proserpine Jno Moore 
Gunner Proserpine My Wearing Apparel I bequeath as follows I 
give and bequeath all such as I may be possessed of at the 
time of my decease to Serjt John Simpson of the Coldstream 
Guards and John Mucklow the Corporal of the 26th Regiment 
equally between them share and share alike Given under my 
hand at Briancon aforesaid this 7th day of August 1811 
Witness J Nesbitt _ Jno Moore 6th September 1819 
Administration with Will annexed of the Goods of Patrick 
Dowling otherwise Dooly late a Serjeant Major in the 
Coldstream Guards in France deceased was granted to Mary 
O'Brien Widow otherwise Dooly the Administratrix of the 
Goods of John Dooly in the Will written Dowling deceased
