Cork - Fitzgerald, David March 2, 1763 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Cork Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Rosalind Dunning ros.dunning@outlook.com April 9, 2018, 2:00 pm FITZGERALD, DAVID MARCH 2, 1763 Source: National Archives Kew England Written: March 2, 1763 Recorded: April 9, 2018 In the Name of God Amen I David Fitz Gerald of the City of Cork Merchant being weak in Body but of sound and disposing Mind and Memory blessed be God for the same do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following hereby revoking and making void all other Wills by me heretofore made that is to say first I leave my Soul to God and my Body to the Earth and I desire that I might be interred in my family Vault at Waterford with my late Wife and father in a private and frugal Manner and whereas I did previous to my Intermarriage with my present Wife enter into Articles Now I do by this my Will ratify and confirm the same and do request my Executor hereinafter named strictly to comply with the same Secondly I order and direct that my said Executor shall immediately after my decease lay out the Sum of two hundred pounds Stock at Interest upon the best Security that can be got for the same and that the Interest of the same shall be paid to William Joseph Hurrne of the City of Corke Cooper for as many Years as he shall live and from and after his decease I order and direct that the Interest of the said two hundred Pounds shall be paid to the said William Joseph Hurrne's Wife for as many years as she shall live in case She shall survive him and from and after the decease of the said William Joseph Hurrne and his said wife then I leave and bequeath the said Sum of two hundred pounds unto my Godson David Hurrne and my Will is that my said Executor shall not be accountable for any bad Security that that might be taken for the said two hundred pounds thirdly I leave and bequeath unto my friend Thomas McNamarra of the City of Cork Merchant the Sum of twenty pounds Sterling yearly for as many Years as he shall live to be paid him in such manner as he shall think proper fourthly I leave and bequeath unto my Uncle Patrick Rochfort of the City of Cork Merchant the Sum of one hundred pounds Sterl and the like sum of one hundred pounds Sterl unto his Son David Rochfort now in France fifthly I leave and bequeath unto my friend William Ryan of the City of Cork Merchant the Sum of one hundred pounds Sterling Sixthly I recommend unto my said Executor my natural Daughters Ann Fitz Gerald and Rose Fitzgerald now in Waterford and hope and doubt not he will take care to cloath maintain and provide for them Seventhly I leave and bequeath unto my Servants Honor Hallman and Mary Duggan the Sum of ten pounds Sterling a peice and to every Servant that shall be in my Service at the time of my decease one Guinea each Eighthly I give and bequeath unto my friend Dennis Moylan of the North Suburbs of the City of Cork Butcher ten pounds Sterling to buy Mourning ninthly I leave and bequeath unto Elizabeth McCarthy of Paul Street in the City of Corke the Sum of one hundred and fifty pounds Sterl and after her decease the same to go to and amongst her Children and my Will is and I do order that She shall have the full use of the same for as many years as he shall live to lay out in Trade or otherwise as She shall think fit tenthly I leave and bequeath unto Mr James Sexton of the City of Waterford the Sum of ten pounds Eleventhly I leave and bequeath unto my Brother John Fitzgerald the Sum of one Shilling and no more Lastly as to the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Worldly Substance whereof I shall die possessed I leave and bequeath the same unto my Brother Edward ffitz Gerald of the City of London Merchant whom I hereby constitute and appoint sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my Name and affixed my Seal the second day of March one thousand seven hundred and sixty three Dd ffitz Gerald (Attestation Clause) Nicholas Walsh _ Richd Byrne _ Roger Power Proved at London 21 June 1764 PCC Prob11/899
