Cork - Majou, Elizabeth May 17, 1742 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Cork Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Rosalind Dunning ros.dunning@outlook.com May 3, 2018, 4:59 am MAJOU, ELIZABETH MAY 17, 1742 Source: National Archives Kew England Written: May 17, 1742 Recorded: May 3, 2018 In the Name of God Amen I Elizabeth Majou of the City of Cork Widow being in health of Body and of sound and perfect mind and memory praise be given to Almighty God and knowing the incertainty of this life on Earth and being desireous to Settle my affairs here do make and ordain this my present Settlement last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say first and Principally I give my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God who gave it me and for my Body I commend it to the Earth to be buried in a Christian manner as my friends and Executors shall think fitt and as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give devise bequeath and dispose the same in manner and form following first I bequeath unto my Neice Susanna St Maurice one hundred pounds sterling with all my Household Goods Likewise I give out of my Seven Hundred Pounds Sterling in the old annuity in London left me by my Decease Husband John Majou by his Last Will and Testament as follows That is to say I give leave and bequeath unto my Brother Charles St Maurice the Sume of fifty pounds sterling also to the Three Sons and Two Daughters of Captain Saint Maurice deceased Brother and Sisters to my said Neice Susanna the Sume of Two Hundred Pounds Sterling the same to be Equally divided between the said Sons and Two Daughters share and share alike To my Neice Lucy Shabet God daughter to my said Deceased Husband the Sume of one Hundred pounds Sterling To my God Daughter Elizabeth Martin the Sume of one Hundred pounds Sterling To Magdalene Massiot the Wife of James Massiot the Sume of Twenty Pounds Sterling To Susanna Massiot the Wife of John Massiot the Sume of Six Pounds Sterling To the poor of the French Church of Corke Ten Pounds Sterling and of this my said last Will I do make and ordain my friends James Massiot the Elder and John Massiot his Son of the City of Cork Merchants my Executors and I do give leave and bequeath unto the said James Massiot the Elder the sume of One Hundred Pounds Sterling and to my Servant Maid at my Death Three pounds and for the residue and Remainder of my Worldly Substance I give the Same for the Discharging my funeral and necessary Expences In Witness whereof I the said Elizabeth Majou have hereunto put my hand and Seal and published this as my Last Will and Testament This Twenty first Day of May one Thousand Seven hundred and forty Two Elizabeth Majou (Attestation Clause) John Riordan Junr_ John Flahaven _ Benj Sullivan Not: Public Proved at London 3 April 1745 PCC Prob11/739
