In the Name of God Amen I Cornelius Mc Carthy of Gurteenroe 
in the Parish of Macroom Barony of Muskerry and County of 
Cork Broguemaker finding myself thro' age and infirmities 
likely to depart this life But Present to myself Do make 
this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following 
that is to say I will my Soul to Almighty God my Body to the 
Earth rottenness and Worms And my Body to be Buried in a 
Christianlike manner I will all and singular what Goods or 
Effects I die Possessed of to my beloved Son in Law Joseph 
Beech of sd Gurteenroe Colther and his Children to be 
divided by the said Joseph Beech between them as he shall 
think proper And Whereas I am entitled to any Wages and 
Prize Money that is or was due to my Son Daniel Mc Carthy 
who served His Majesty on Board the Victory and which son 
died in St Franc Hospital in the Island of Corsica I also 
will & make over my Right Title & Interest to and in the 
said Wages & Prize Money unto the said Joseph Beech and his 
Children and his Children as aforesaid hereby empowering & 
entitling him to sue for & recover the same together wth any 
Legacy or Legacies that I may hereafter be entitled to from 
my other Sons John McCarthy Patk McCarthy who are gone 
Abroad Years back This Will and bequest being made by me in 
said Joseph Beech & Children's behalf in consideration Of 
their finding & supporting me now eight Years back when past 
my Labour hereby revoking all former Wills by me made 
Witness my Hand and Seal this 24th Day of August 1799 & nine 
Cornels X McCarthy his mark Signed Sealed Published & 
declared in the Presence of Francis Haughlen _ Richard 
Garvan
