Cork - McLean, Gabriel April 17, 1779 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Cork Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Rosalind Dunning ros.dunning@outlook.com February 21, 2018, 3:12 pm MCLEAN, GABRIEL APRIL 17, 1779 Source: National Archives Kew England Written: April 17, 1779 Recorded: February 21, 2018 In the Name of God Amen I Gabriel McLean of the City of Corke Cordwainer being in a weak state of Health but of sound and disposing Mind Memory and Understanding do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say In the First Place I order and direct that my principal Creditors James Foote of the City of Corke Sadler and William Reynolds of the same Silversmith with the rest of my Creditors be paid and discharged their respective Debts due to them I Give and bequeath unto my Executors hereinafter named the Sum of one Hundred Pounds each as a Recompense for the trouble they might have on account of their Executorship I give devise and bequeath unto the said James Foote and William Reynolds and the Survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of such Survivor all such Lands Tenements and Houses in the East Indies or elsewhere as I am or shall hereafter be intitled unto under and by Virtue of the Will of my Uncle William Magee for and during such Terms of Years or Lives as are yet to come and unexpired upon Trust that they may sell and absolutely dispose of the same and convert them into Money and do and shall with such Money pay off and discharge my just Debts and the Legacies aforesaid and after payment thereof the rest residue and remainder of such Money as shall arise from such Sale the third part thereof I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved Wife Mary McLean for her sole use and the other two thirds I Give and bequeath unto my Children Gabriel McLean John McLean James McLean and Margt McLean and the Survivor of them to be equally divided between them Share and Share alike I Give and bequeath unto the said James Foote and William Reynolds and the Survivor of them and the Executors and Administrators of such Survivor the Sum of fifteen Hundred Pounds which I am intitled unto after the death of my Aunt Mary the Wife of the said William Magee under and by Virtue of the said Will and also all and every such other Sum and Sums of Money Goods and Chattels which I am or shall be hereafter intitled unto under and by Virtue of my said Uncle Wm Magee's Will upon Trust that they may pay off and discharge my said Debts and the Legacies to each of them hereby bequeathed in case the Money arising from the Sale of the said Lands shall not be sufficient for that purpose and after payment aforesaid the third part of the Residue and Remainder of the said Sum of fifteen Hundred Pounds and such other Sum and Sums of Money as I shall or may be intitled unto I Give and Bequeath unto my said Wife and the other two thirds I Give and bequeath unto my said Children to be divided between them Share and Share alike I do hereby nominate and appoint the said James Foote and William Reynolds Executors of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Will and Wills by me at any time heretofore made declaring this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto put my Hand and Seal this seventeenth day of April one thousand seven Hundred and seventy nine Gabriel McLean (Attestation Clause) James Boyce _ John Warner _ Thoms Foott Proved at London 9 July 1781 PCC Prob11/1080
