In the Name of God Amen I John Moylan of the City of Cork
Merchant being now on the eve of my departure for England
And aware of the uncertainty or my return Do make this my
last Will and Testament Vizt. I give and bequeath to my
dearly beloved Mary Moylan the entire of what Property I may
be Possessed of be it in Money Goods Debts or Lands in
confidence that she will dispose of it amongst my Children
as she shall think most to their Advantage taking and
reserving to her own use and benefit whatever part she may
think proper And as it is my intention to give to David
Andr Esqr of London (as a small compensation for the heavy
loss formerly sustained by me and my Brother) the Sum of
five hundred pounds English Money Provided I can accomplish
so much during my Stay in England I recommend to my Wife in
case I should not be able to fulfil this my intention to pay
him whatever there may be deficient of the said Sum of five
hundred pounds English Money And I regret that it is not in
my power to afford him greater Assistance I recommend most
earnestly to my Children if it should be the will of God to
grant them Affluence hereafter to Pay the remainder of the
debt due to Mr Andr my obligations to him and his father
were great and essential And they have been heavy sufferers
by me in consequence of their unbounded confidence I
therefore recommend most earnestly to them never to lose
sight of this my most earnest recommendation I lament that I
have it not in my power to leave my Children in better
circumstances but my own misfortunes were great and heavy
for a number of Years And it was only within these last
three Years that it pleased God to give me some little
success I recommend to my Children to be dutiful and
respectful to their Mother to follow her advice on all
Occasions And to live united & Affectionate to each other by
so doing they will merit the Grace of God and the esteem and
good opinion of the World I nominate constitute and appoint
my dear Wife as sole Executor dated June 28th 1797 seven
