Cork - Welsh Or Walsh, James May 23, 1809 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Cork Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Rosalind Dunning ros.dunning@outlook.com April 8, 2019, 1:18 pm WELSH OR WALSH, JAMES MAY 23, 1809 Source: National Archives Kew England Written: May 23, 1809 Recorded: April 8, 2019 In the Name of God Amen I James Welsh Seaman belonging to His Majesty's late Ship Greyhound being in Bodily health & of sound & disposing mind memory and understanding and considering the perils and dangers of the Seas and other uncertainties of this Transitory life do for avoiding Controversies after my decease make & declare this my last Will and testament in manner following that is to say first I recommend my Soul to God that gave it and my Body I commit to the Earth or Sea as it shall please God to order and as for and concerning all my worldly Estate I dispose thereof as followeth that is to say to my wife Elenor Welsh biding and residing in Purple Lane near Menckes Brewery at Mr Purlls London I bequeath all my wages but in the event of her death I bequeath the same to my Daughter Elenor Welsh living and residing in the said place and all my Prize Money Bounty Moey Smart Money short allowance Money and all other Sum or Sums of Money as shall be any ways due owing payable and belonging unto me at the times of my decease (wages excepted) to be equally divided between my Mother Judah Walsh and my Brothers William Welsh & my Sister Norah Welsh living & residing in Bandon near Cork Ireland but in the event of the death of either to be equally divided amongst the Survivors and I do hereby Nominate and Appoint my Mother Judah Welsh and my Brothers William & Thomas Welsh Executors of this my last Will & Testament hereby revoking all former or other wills or Deeds of Gifts by me heretofore made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & Seal this 23rd day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Nine and in the forty ninth of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third over the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland King Defender of the faith James Welsh Sealed in the Presence of P Grace Acting Lieutenant _ Jno Thos Barton Acting Purser HM late Ship Greyhound Proved at London 3 August 1812 PCC Prob11/1536
