Wills: Shannon, John June 29, 1796 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Derry Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Rosalind Dunning ros.dunning@outlook.com March 25, 2019, 2:27 pm WILLS: SHANNON, JOHN JUNE 29, 1796 Source: National Archives Kew England Written: June 29, 1796 Recorded: March 25, 2019 In the Name of God Amen I John Shannon Standing at No 1034 on the Books His Majestys Ship Invincible Wm Cayley Esquire Commander being in Bodily health and of sound and disposing Mind and Memory and considering the Perils and dangers of the Seas and other uncertainties of this transitory Life make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say First I recommend my Soul to God that gave it and my Body I commit to the Earth or Sea as it shall please God to order and as for and concerning all my Worldly Estate I give bequeath and dispose thereof as followeth that is to say all my Wages Sum and Sums of Money Lands Tenements Goods Chattels and Estate whatsoever as shall be any ways due owing or belonging to me at the time of my decease I do give devise and bequeath the same unto my dear Wife Rose Shannon at Clonsher near Derry in Ireland and I hereby nominate and appoint the said Rose Shannon sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all other and former wills Deeds of Gift by me at any time heretofore made and I do ordain and ratify these presents to stand for and be and as my only last Will and Testament In Witness whereof to this my said will I have set my hand and Seal the twenty ninth Day of June in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety six and in the thirty sixth Year of the Reign of His Majesty King George the third over Great Britain etc. John Shannon X his mark Signed Sealed and declared in the presence of Wm Cayley Captain Danl Titterton Purser 31 January 1801 Administration with Will annexed to George Shannon Son of the Deceased Rose Shannon having died in the lifetime of the Testator PCC Prob11/1353
