Donegal - Patrick Gallagher family tree *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Donegal Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Ed McCarthyOct 2013 GALLAGHER, PATRICK FAMILY TREE The attached is a "family Tree" of the Jack Gallagher / Patrick Gallagher family that lived in Drimnacarrow, Town of Frosses, Co. Donegal. Many of the descendants moved to Australia and America. James Gallagher's daughter Anne came to America also where she married a man named Edward "Eddie" McGovern, probably in Wilkes-Barre. Michael was born 4/13/1872 in townland called Killian; in a location called Drimnacarroe, Town of Frosses, , County Donegal. He immigrated to America in 1888 departing from Liverpool on a ship named British Princess, settling in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Anna was born in Mayo, most likely on May 21, 1873, most likely in Castlebar. She emigrated in 1889, from Liverpool. I believe that she came over on the SS Halvetia with a stated destination of Pennsylvania. They were married in Pennsylvania on Feb 24, 1897.Both are buried in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Luzern County, near Wilkes-Barre. Michael had been the Sexton and Caretaker of that cemetery for years. Patrick Gallagher, (Michaels father) died in Ireland on April 26, 1908. His wife Uma (Winifred) McCall Patrick originated in Kilcar (or the Rosses) in Donegal them moved Drimnacarrow, Town of Frosses Donegal. His wife was (Uma McCall) died Mar 12, 1913 in Ireland. I have no information on Patricks father Jack other than a belief that he too came to Drimnacarrow with Patrick. As for Patricks children, Annie (Gallagher) McKeown, Michael (my Grandfather) and Margaret (Gallagher) Notoff each emigrated to Wilkes- Barre (Luzerne County) Pennsylvania. Most of their offspring remained in the area, my mother being the exception having moved to New York where we were raised.
