A Return Of Inquests Held By Several Coroners Of The Counties And Cities Of Ireland For Each Month During The Year 1841. Giving Name, Date Of Inquest, Where Held, And Finding Of Each Inquiry. Taken from the British Parliamentary Papers on Ireland. Note: "VISITATION FROM GOD" was a death where the cause was unknown. UNKNOWN, on the 18th Jan, at Ballyshannon, we find that the said male infant died on the 15th Jan., at Ballyshannon, by violence, inflicted on his head by Anne Black, Jnr., and Ann Black, Snr. WEBBER, Mary, on the 29th Jan, at Lech Church, drowned while in a state of intoxication in the river Swilly. KEERIN, William, on the 31st Jan., at Meenalig, death was occasioned by drinking ardent spirits and from the cold. SCOTT, Margaret, on the 13th Feb., Lough Eak, died at Birch Hill, on the 12th Jan., by exposing herself to the cold, being in a weak state of body and mind. LAWN, William, on the 14th Feb., at Billory, by suffocation, caused by live coals introduced into his bedroom, it having no ventilation. GALLAGHER, Mary, 19th Feb., at Tanney, died at Dooghbog, on the 7th Feb., from a gun-shot wound from a revenue policeman, whose name is unknown to us, while under the command of ---- Costello, a revenue police officer whose christian name is unknown to us, and that the police were in no danger of the country people at the time the shot was fired. TRAVER, Mary, on the 19th March, at Ardnagullagh, died by falling into a well. TYMONY, John, on the 29th April, at Portnasun, drowned on the 17th March, near Ballyshannon, in consequence of an oar that he was putting in its place on the boat, striking him on the chest, and threw him into the sea, where he drowned. McCORMICK, Thomas, on the 3rd May, at Meencariga, died by falling into a pond of water when in a fit of epilepsy. ANDERSON, Sarah, on the 16th May, at Stranorlar, by bursting of a blood vessel, brought on by severe coughing. PATTEN, James, on the 22nd May, at Meenagra, was found drowned in the river Finn, at a place called Glenmore. McCLOSKY, Bryan, on the 27th May, in the Gaol in Lifford, visitation of God. IRVINE, Richard, on the 7th June, at Port Ballyshannon, drowned himself in the sea near Portnasur, while labouring under a fit of temporary insanity. HARRIS, James, on the 29th June, at Dooran Rock, died in a boat on his way from Donegal to Trybane, near Dooran. BOYLE, Hugh, on the 2nd July, at Dovey, died in consequence of a wound inflicted on his left side with a bayonet by Patt Rogers, late of Dovey. McGOVERIN, Anne, on the 20th July, drowned at ball Shannon. CLARK, Thomas, on the 21st July, at Ballyotherland, died in a boat, in Brucklass Bay, by visitation of God. KOEN, Felix, Rev., 31st Aug., at Bundoran, drowned when bathing. KELLY, Betty, on the 1st Sept., at Tullycrook, died of apoplexy. (Spelling as per Book.
