In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Donaghey of White Castle in
the County of Donegal farmer make and publish this my last
Will and Testament in manner and form following hereby
revoking all former Wills by me made first I resign my Soul
to God and my body to the Earth from whence it came I allow
my body to be interred at Drung called the forth I give and
bequeath my present farm which I hold at White Castle in
manner and form following that is to say I give unto my
beloved Wife Mary Donaghey two Acres and a half of land in
the Cut next the Dwellinghouse up and down and also the Cow
I now have and also the room belonging to the Dwellinghouse
and at her death to dispose of it as she may think proper I
recommend my daughter Susan to live and continue with her
Mother as long as she lives unmarried I leave and bequeath
unto my son Francis Donaghey the remainder of the Cut of
Land next the Dwellinghouse after his Mother's part is taken
therefrom I leave said Frances the Kitchen I now live in and
also my House and I recommend said Francis to live with his
Mother as long as he is unmarried I leave and bequeath unto
my Son in law John Barr the cut of Land called the Wood Lane
cut next to William Cannings but first said John is to
measure off one Acre of said Cut to Frank Donaghey my son
off the two upper parks not to interfere with the hill Cut
next the high road and if after my death my present family
cannot agree or live together I allow John Barr my present
Son in Law to build a house on said Woodland Cut and live
thereon I leave and bequeath all my household furniture of
what nature or kind soever to be equally divided between my
loving Wife Frances Donghey and Edward Donaghey my sons and
John Barr my present Son in Law but first I allow the bed
and bedding of Cloths I now have or sleep upon to be given
to my beloved Wife Mary Donaghey and at her death to leave
said bed and cloths to my daughter Susan over and above said
division of furniture I leave and bequeath a certain sum of
money I now am entitled to lying in England which there is
at present proceedings taken for the recovery of the same by
John Chambers Esqr I allow John Chambers Esqr in the first
place to pay himself all I owe him and all costs and
expences attending the recovery of the same I leave and
bequeath the remainder if any in manner following that is to
say I leave to my son George Donaghey five pounds Ann
Donaghey oths Woods five pounds Edward Donaghey five pounds
John Donaghey five pounds Tristram Donaghey five pounds
Matilda Doherty orwise Donaghey Eight pounds Thomas Donaghey
five pounds Mary Donaghey orwise Barr five pounds Frances
Donaghey five pounds Susan Donaghey Ten pounds and I allow
Six pounds Yearly to be paid to my beloved Wife Mary
Donaghey Provided said Money or Legacy comes to have and I
allow the above bequeaths to be paid and the remainder to be
put to Interest and the Interest or benefit arising
therefrom to pay the yearly allowance to my beloved Wife and
at her death said sum or remainder if any to be equally
divided according to the bequeaths above in proportions as
is already bequeathed I leave and order twenty pounds to my
son Edward Donaghey first to be taken from the sum of money
I am entitled by any Legacy or bequeath to pay my just debts
which I now owe And I do hereby appoint the said George
Donaghey and Edward Donaghey my sole Executors In Witness
whereof I the said Thomas Donaghey the Testator have
hereunto set my hand and seal the 23rd day of February in
the Year of Our Lord 1829 Thomas Donaghey
