In the Name of God Amen I John Pitt Kennedy of Donagh in the
County of Donegall do make publish and declare this my last
Will and Testament vizt. first I desire that I may be buried
in the same Grave with my dear Mother but not sooner than
the fourth day after my decease I do by this my last Will
acknowledge and confirm the Jointure settled on my dear Wife
Mary Kennedy otherwise Carey by certain articles made on my
intermarriage with her and I do hereby leave bequeath &
devise all such Estates Real and Personal Goods Chattels &
Effects of what kindsoever that I shall die possessed of or
in anywise intitled to dispose of to The Revd Saml Law
Montgomery of Derry and The Revd Charles Henry Crookshank of
Randaltown In trust for the uses and purposes herein after
expressed and directed vizt. that the same shall be equally
divided and distributed share and share alike among all the
Children which I now have and which hereafter may be born to
me excepting only my freehold of Lough Ash & Minegrane in
the County of Tyrone which I leave to my eldest Son William
Pitt Kennedy over and above his equal share with my other
Children and if any of my Children which I now have or
hereafter may have shall die before he or they shall
respectively attain the age of twenty one years or be
married be it understood as my Will and direction that the
portion or portions of such Children so dying shall be
equally divided among my other surviving Children
nevertheless it is my express desire that my Executors whom
I also appoint as my Trustees and Guardians to my Children
shall permit and suffer my said Wife Mary Kennedy so long as
she shall remain & continue unmarried from & after my death
to receive & use during the term of  her Widowhood only and
no longer all my household furniture and Plate Cattle and
Crop together with the annual rents Interest of money Debts
etc. arising from my said Estates in confidence that she
will apply the same as shall appear to her most conducive to
the advantage of my Children and I do hereby authorize and
empower my Executors to raise & apply any Sum which may be
required from my sd Estates in such manner as they shall
think proper for the purpose of providing a renewal or their
better Interest in my farm of Tooban & Cashel or for any
other purpose which may appear to them advantageous for my
family and Lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and
appoint the sd Revd Saml Law Montgomery & The Revd Charles
Henry Crookshank Executors of this my last Will and
Testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me heretofore
made In Witness whereof I do now hereunto and to a Duplicate
hereof set my hand & seal this 25th day if February in the
year of our Lord 1806 J Pitt Kennedy

I leave to my dear Wife my Watch and Seals & such of my
books as she may wish to have and to my Daughter Anne the
following books viz: Goldsmiths Grecian Roman & English
Histories Pope?s Works Addison?s Works My small Edition of
Shakespeare?s Works Grey?s Poems Walker?s Sermons & a small
bible and I leave the rest of my books & Book Cases & my
large Silver Cup and Cover to my Son William J Pitt Kennedy
And I desire 20 Guineas to be given to my Son Thomas to
replace his Watch which he generously gave to his Brother

validity of a Codicil
