Will: Burke, Michael May 21, 1806 *********************************************** Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives Dublin Index Copyright ************************************************ File contributed by: Rosalind Dunning ros.dunning@outlook.com September 16, 2017, 8:54 am BURKE, MICHAEL MAY 21, 1806 Source: National Archives Kew England Written: May 21, 1806 Recorded: September 16, 2017 In the Name of God Amen I Michael Burke of Ushers Island in the County of Dublin Merchant being of sound Mind Memory and Understanding thanks be to God for the same but considering the Uncertainty of this mortal Life do make and publish this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and annulling all former Will or Wills by me made I desire that my Executor hereinafter named may as soon as convenient after my decease pay off all my just Debts and funeral Expences And I will and bequeath in manner following that is to say I give and bequeath unto henry Sutton my faithful Clerk the Sum of three hundred pounds to be paid to him immediately after my decease with whatever Arrear of Salary or Wages that may be then due to him I give and bequeath to each of my Brothers William, Alexander, John, Walter, Richard and Thomas Burke the Sum of one hundred pounds each I give and bequeath to each of my Brothers in Law John and Cornelius Rourke one hundred pounds each I give and bequeath to each of my Sisters in Law Ann, Catherine and Jane Rorke one hundred pounds each I give and bequeath to Mrs Mary Kelly my Sister in Law one hundred pounds I give and bequeath to the Poor of Bridge Street and to the Poor School of Adam and Eve Chapel twenty pound each I give and bequeath to the female Orphan House under the direction of Miss O'Brien also the Sum of twenty pounds I give and bequeath unto my Sister Anne Keane one hundred pounds I give and bequeath to each of my Nephews Michael Keane and Martin Burke now on their way to Barbadoes and whom God preserve the Sum of one hundred pounds each I give and bequeath to Miss Elizabeth Burke of Birr Sister to P. Burke the Sum of one hundred pounds I give and bequeath to each of my three Servants Margaret Clarke Margaret Moran and Charles Paddon the Sum of twenty Pounds each along with whatever Wages that may be due to them and each of them at my Decease and which I desire may be immediately Paid to them then I give and bequeath to the Revd Mr Peter Moran the Sum of fifty Pounds I give and bequeath to Cornelius Rorke my House I give and bequeath to my much beloved friend Edward Byrne of faggant the Sum of one hundred pounds I give and bequeath to John Rorke and Jonathan Lynch both of Usher's Quay in the City of Dublin Merchants the Sum of two hundred pounds each And I do hereby appoint the said John Rorke and Jonathan Lynch my Executors to this my last Will and Testament I make this bequest in Consideration of the Trouble they may have in acting as my Executors And I do hereby desire that my said Executors shall and will as soon as conveniently may be after my decease sell off my Public Auction all my Property And as to all and every the Rest Residue and my Property of what kind soever that I may be possessed of at the time of my decease I hereby Will and bequeath unto my Brother James Burke of Baltimore in America and whom I appoint my Residuary Legatee And I hereby declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this twenty first Day of May one thousand eight hundred and six Michael Burke (Attestation Clause) Jno Taaffe Atty No 15 Blackhall Street Proved at London 22 March 1809 PCC Prob11/1494
